“We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” ~ Numbers 13:3
“And they said to each other, ‘We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.’” ~ Numbers 14:4
~ When we go through trials and hardships, our imaginations flare up and we do two things:
1) Make the bad things out to be much larger than they really are.
2) Make the good things – the things in our favor – out to be much smaller than they really are.
~ When the Israelites received bad reports from the spies, their imagination got the best of them.
Though the Promised Land was now just a stone’s throw away, it was in their minds, unreachable.
And though Egypt was quite the distance, it was deemed possible.
